Tips - Accent Entertainment Disc Jockey Service

Some Things to Ponder when selecting Your DJ

Successful Events Are Not Accidents!

There are many questions you should ask any vendor before you hire them. For Disc Jockeys, we have listed many of them below.

The best tip we can give is for you to "Interview" any DJ Company you would consider hiring. Because your event's success is inescapably linked to the entertainment you choose, it is highly recommended that you have a face to face meeting . You will quickly know if this person is right for your event. Take the time now to find the DJ that is right for you and weeks, months, and years ahead your efforts will be paid with a lifetime of great memories.

1. Who will be doing my reception/party?
You should know who your DJ is. During your meetings with them, you get to know them and they get to know you. If the person you are meeting with is not the one who will be DJing your event, try and set up a meeting with that DJ as well. With Accent Entertainment, you will work with your DJ from beginning to end.

2. How much experience does your prospective DJ have?
We have experience serving clients during many types of events. Our experience will allow us create your unique event based on your needs.

3. What is included in the packages?
Find out what is included, and will the package meet your needs. Do they have microphones for toasts? Will they emcee your event? Is travel, setup, and breakdown extra? Are lighting packages available? What is the charge for overtime?

4. Do you take requests?
It is very important to ask about the music selection. Will their music library be sufficient to meet most all requests? Accent Entertainment has an extensive music library. If you have specific songs we don't have, it is our job to get them.

5. Can your prospective DJ provide references?
While each event is unique, it can be very helpful to speak with past clients to find out how the DJ worked out for them. Recent references are always important. We have past clients that have graciously made themselves available to discuss our services. Their information is available upon request.

6. Does your prospective DJ dress appropriately?
We will always be formally attired. In the event your function requires less formal attire, we can always dress to match the atmosphere of the event.

7. Does your prospective DJ use professional DJ equipment?
While we believe equipment is not the most important factor, bigger is not always better, it is still important to know that the DJ company you hire is using commercial grade professional equipment. It will sound great at any level with no distortion. It will also stand up to the rigors of continued use. Accent Entertainment uses all commercial grade professional equipment.

8. Is there a written contract?
With Accent Entertainment, you will always receive a written service agreement, protecting your entertainment investment.

9. Does your prospective DJ carry liability insurance?
Some venues require this type of insurance. Accent Entertainment does carry a liability insurance policy.

10. Does your prospective DJ have back-up equipment?
What is the ability of the DJ to keep the music going, in case of equipment failure? Accent Entertainment carries back-up professional DJ equipment in the unlikely case of failure. We do this for your peace of mind and to ensure the party goes on.
